Cedar Grove to conduct its Fall Hydrant Flushing Program starting Monday, Oct. 22, 2018 and ending Thursday (if needed), Oct. 25, 2018.

The flushing will begin with hydrants in the South End of town and proceed Northward. Flushing will be done between the hours of 7:00pm-12:00am(midnight).

Because it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact neighborhood where flushing will occur at the given time, residents are advised to bathe before 7pm and store sufficient water for their breakfast needs. Residents are also advised no to do laundry for 24 hours after their neighborhood hydrants have been flushed, as the water may discolor clothing.

Discoloration of water can be expected for 24-36 hours after flushing Th discolored water is not harmful, but residents should briefly run their faucets to clear the discolored water.
