Adult Yoga

This program will be instructed by Stacy Valdes-Davis a resident of Cedar Grove and a certified Yoga instructor for 10+ years. Yoga is designed to improve the health, performance, and mental acuity of individuals interested in improving their level of fitness. This program is run all year, check forms below for designated season.

Adult Strength Training for Every Body

This program will be instructed by Stacy Valdes-Davis a resident of Cedar Grove and a certified Yoga/Fitness instructor. Every week participants will learn simple strength training exercises that will use body weight, light hand-held weights and resistance bands to build strength, tone muscles and help you feel healthier! Focus will be on arms, core and legs with light cardio at the start and finish of each session. The challenge will be to take what you do on Mondays and do it 2-3 more times that week, on your own so you can confidently progress as the session continues.

Adult Pickleball

What is Pickleball? The fastest growing sport in the country! Pickleball is also the fastest growing high school physical education sport, but is fit for all ages! Easy to learn, and fun to play, while maintaining good health and fitness! Pickleball is a paddle/sport that combines the features of Tennis, Ping Pong, and Badminton, with a few unique twists of its own. It is played indoors or outdoors on a court about half the size of a tennis court. Paddles & balls will be provided. THIS IS FOR ALL LEVELS OF PLAY, SOME COURTS WILL BE DESIGNATED FOR BEGINNER AND SOME WILL PLAY ROUND-ROBIN STYLE. This program is run in Fall & Spring only, check forms below for designated season.

Adult Tennis Lessons (through US Sports Institute)

Available for both beginner and intermediate level players. Participants will work on refining their technique or learning the basics behind the sport. Each adult tennis class will be structured to emphasize a new weekly groundstroke. Learn the game from our certified tennis coaches with technique, point play and scoring. This clinic is a great start to get involved in a lifelong sport! Adult Water Workout (Summer Only)

This program will be instructed by Stacy Valdes-Davis a resident of Cedar Grove and a certified Yoga/Fitness instructor for 10+ years. This class is designed to progress the health and performance of individuals interested in improving their level of fitness… and why not do it in the water!

Men’s Spring Softball League

This league is for Adult Men 18 years+ who are either; Residents of, Graduated from or Work in Cedar Grove or Verona Townships.

Who & Where

Adults 18 years +, Cedar Grove-Community Park or Verona-Community Center Field

When & Time

Games will be played Monday-Thursday evenings, starting 1st week of May, ending 1st week of August.

Men’s Spring Bocce League

This league is for Adult Men 18 years+ who are either; Residents of, Graduated from or Work in Cedar Grove.

Who & Where

Adults 18 years +, Cedar Grove-Community Park

When & Time

Matches will be played Monday-Thursday evenings, starting 1st week of May.

Men’s Open Gym (Fall & Spring)

For Cedar Grove Men ages 18+. Must bring proof of residency and sign in each session. Face coverings are required when not playing. Must bring your own basketball.

Who & Where

Men 18 years +, Memorial Middle School

When & Time

Thursdays, 7:00-9:00pm

Senior Citizen Nutrition Program

This program is held at the Robert O’Toole Community Center and is free to all seniors in Essex County age 60+.

Hours of Operation: Center opens at 10:00am, lunch is served between 12:00-1:00pm and ends at 2:00pm.

To reserve a seat for lunch at the Senior Nutrition Site at the Robert O’Toole Community Center please call, #973-744-8103 x246 (CHRILL).

The county will also provide free transportation by calling 973-618-7020 or letting CHRILL know you need a ride when signing up for lunch program.
